New Mattman expo opening in October
September 2019
A big solo exhibition will be open from October 11th until November 11th in Bonheiden, Belgium. It's a great chance to see many of Mattman's creations in real life. Everyone is welcome!

Mattman Returns, a mini expo
March 2019
After 4 years Mattman Returns to the same exhibition space with new work! In Bar Stan (in Leuven) you will find my artwork on every wall until March 31th.
They have delicious food and coffee as well, so be sure to check it out :)

New Mattman Expo in Linkebeek (Brussels)
January 2019
Every Month GC De Moelie invites a different artist to present their work in a project called 'De Muur'.
January it will be Mattman his turn. From January 7th until 31th you will find my paintings and drawings decorating the walls . Entrance is free, so go check it out!

Solo exhibitition: Crossing the Line
September 2018
It is with great pleasure and pride that I invite you to the first solo exhibition of Mattman: Crossing the line
Crossing the line, in the first place refers to the line between the artist and observer that will disappear in this expo. But It also points out the fine line between living in an own creative world and a state of complete insanity, which the artist must try to balance.
It is very strange that absolute freedom, in life as well as in art, seems to be extremely difficult for the human brain to handle.
So only a Mattman ( or madman) can create a safe path between both worlds, on the edge of light and dark, the normal and the absurd, to show you both sides.
The exhibition runs from September 18th until November 28th.

First Headlight album now available online!
October 2017
Next to drawing and painting, Mattman is also the drummer of the band 'Headlight' from Belgium. The first album 'We need somebody naked' is finally released on cd and can be ordered on-line.
The tittle refers to the fact that not many people seem to be their true selves anymore. We say drop all the masks and clothes and show us your naked soul!

The Big Draw Leuven
October 2015
The Big Draw is a world wide festival that wants more people to start drawing everywhere! Mattman was there to draw on the windows of flower shop Moens in the Diestsestraat to have a street exhibition.

New expo in TABLOO
September 2015
The whole month of September and October 2015 there will be many Mattman paintings and drawings for show at TABLOO in Leuven. This shop is a really nice place to get some art supplies and maybe try to copy a real Mattman? :)

Exhibition in Bar Stan

For the last two months of 2014, there has been a small exhibition of my new Black & White series in Bar Stan in Leuven. Thanks to all of you for the nice comments about them. I am happy to say that one of the drawings is going to stay in the bar permanently!

Mattman wins painting competition!
september 2013
The competition 'intimide nude' was held by De Kunstbloem in Ghent where the artists had to paint a life model. Mattman was rewarded for his originality and spontanious style. He won the price of the jury aswell as the price voted online by the public.
Thanks to this he is now free to join the drawing and painting classes for a whole year at De Kunstbloem.

"Headlight is a music-making duo from Antwerp. Mattman and Lotje found each other in the basement of a monastry where they devoted their lives to growing new sounds and making musical babies.
